  • A young Fife photographer has scored well in a nationwide competition.
    Stuart Russell, a young photographer from Glenrothes was voted 4th out of 17 finalists in the nationwide competition to find Britain’s Best View 2011. Stuart was funded by PSYBT in April 2011 to set up his business ‘Stuart Russell Artwork’.
    The competition was organised by gentleman’s goods company, Appleby Parva in association with Facebook and the winner was announced on the 11th of May. Stuarts photograph “Over The Bridge” received 53 votes and was a clear favourite.

    Young entrepreneurs in the Scottish Borders are to benefit from a £75,000 windfall to help provide additional support to 18-25 year olds who want to set up and sustain their own businesses.


    The monies have been gifted to The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) by The Robertson Trust, an independent Scottish grant making trust established by the Robertson sisters who were brought up in the Scottish Borders. They donated the shares in the businesses, founded and developed by their grandfather and father, establishing the Trust in 1961 for charitable purposes.

  • Paul Bradford of Award winning cake designers Truly Scrumptious, has asked pupils from local primary schools in and around Linlithgow to design their own royal wedding cupcake to mark the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.


    Paul was funded by PSYBT in 2008 and since then has won many awards and is now one of Britain’s most well respected cake designers. Paul decided to get involved in the Royal Wedding fever, realising that many people would be paying particular attention to the couples of choice of cake as well as Kate’s dress!

  • The PSYBT Volunteer Conference 2011, which is sponsored by ScottishPower,is taking place on May 10th at Perth Concert Hall.


    PSYBT has held regular Volunteer Conferences over the last 10 years, aiming to give the dynamic extended PSYBT ‘family’ an opportunity to share experiences and enhance their skills to benefit their support and interaction with the young entrepreneurs that we work with throughout Scotland. The Conference offers unrivalled networking opportunities for volunteers, clients, supporters, staff and partners alike.

  • An Edinburgh based fashion designer has been revealed as the overall winner of the 2010/11 Jolomo Arts & Crafts PSYBT Award.


    Bespoke womenswear designer, Judith R Clark, was presented with a £3,000 cash prize by renowned Scottish contemporary artist, John Lowrie Morrison [Jolomo] at the awards, which are organised by The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT). The runners-up were Lauren Crawford who lives in Fife and designs handwoven textiles, and Dundee based silversmith Genna Delaney.

  • Bob McDowell meets entrepreneurs

    Young, aspiring entrepreneurs gathered in Glasgow last night to hear what it takes to be successful in business from the vice president at the helm of one of the world’s leading IT services organisations.


    Speaking at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Bob McDowell, vice president for Microsoft Corporation in Seattle urged Scotland’s budding entrepreneurs to seize opportunitities for enterprise and innovation and not to be deterred from realising their future career ambitions.

  • The contribution of the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust towards generating a culture of entrepreneurship has been recognised by an organisation committed to promoting the idea of entrepreneurship, worldwide.


    From over 700 organisations that applied to have their efforts recognised as having made an ‘outstanding impact’ during ‘Global Entrepreneurship Week’ - which took place in November under the auspices of, among others, London-based Enterprise UK – PSYBT was one of just 131 entitled to carry the GEW seal of approval.

    Shoe designer Emily Lamb has been nominated for a Scottish Variety Award under the ‘Best new Scottish Artist or Designer’ category. Emily was funded by PSYBT in 2010 and her hand made shoes have been very well received by those in the fashion industry. After Graduating from Cordwainers, part of the London College of Fashion which specialises in footwear, she decided to launch her own collection, ensuring every creation was unique with their own original feature and pattern.

  • Truly Scrumptious Designer Cakes were crowned Cake Designers of the Year 2010 at the ‘Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier’ (VOWS) Awards in November. Paul Bradford set up his own cake design business in June 2002 after working as a confectioner with a bakery in Linlithgow. With help from PSYBT he set up a studio which he rented from the bakery. Due to the high quality of his designs and craftsmanship, orders started coming in and Paul realised his studio was too small to cope with demand so moved to larger premises.
