  • Leading Scottish Youth Charities Join Forces

Two of Scotland’s leading youth charities, the Prince’s Trust and the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), are to join forces to offer even more support to the country’s young people.

Both organisations have a long and proud history of supporting Scotland’s young people.  The Prince’s Trust Scotland supports disadvantaged young people into education, training and employment, while PSYBT helps young people to start up and continue in business.

  • Alliance Trust Cateran YOMP

Following the huge success of its debut in 2011, Lorraine Kelly launched a call for team entries and sub-sponsors for the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp in 2012. Lorraine joined 5 soldiers in her home town of Dundee ahead of the 52 mile walk along the Cateran Trail which starts in Blairgowrie.

Unlike other walking challenges, the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp offers something for everyone, with Bronze (22 miles), Silver (36.5 miles) or Gold (52 miles) routes along the Cateran Trail which starts in Blairgowrie - there’s a challenge for everyone!

  • Social Media Week Success

PSYBT collaborated with Fundación Impulsar, based in Argentina, during Social Media Week  in a live streaming innovation challenge. Local PSYBT supported businesses and volunteers challenged their contemporaries across the pond to think of creative ways of making everyday products, more innovative. The event was a cultural exchange that helped both parties step outside of their comfort zones and it was a lot of fun at the same time!

PSYBT Awards

Shoe designer Emily Lamb has been nominated for a Scottish Variety Award under the ‘Best new Scottish Artist or Designer’ category. Emily was funded by PSYBT in 2010 and her hand made shoes have been very well received by those in the fashion industry. After Graduating from Cordwainers, part of the London College of Fashion which specialises in footwear, she decided to launch her own collection, ensuring every creation was unique with their own original feature and pattern.
