    Tim Cocking (27) founder of Bright Care at Home in Edinburgh beat off competition from hundreds of Youth Business Scotland supported businesses from all over Scotland who were eligible for this year’s ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award, held at Glasgow City Chambers.

  • CHARITIES YOMP HOME WITH OVER QUARTER OF A MILLION

    Armed Forces Day (Saturday 30 June) saw 480 participants join together to yomp over 36million steps across 18,000 miles to complete the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp.

    Smashing the fundraising target and raising over £250,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and The Prince’s Trust Youth Business Scotland, the Yomp challenged walkers of all abilities to go for bronze (22 miles), silver (36.5 miles) or gold (52 miles) in a survival of the fittest set against a stunning Perthshire backdrop.

  • Tickets are now on sale for the second The Prince’s Trust Youth Business Scotland golf day which will take place at Buchanan Castle Golf Club near Drymen, (A809 within easy reach of Glasgow or Stirling) on Thursday 23rd AUgust 2012.  Youth Business Scotland businesses, volunteers and funders are welcome to the event, where there will be bacon rolls and coffee followed by an 18-hole competition, prize giving and a buffet supper.

  • Two Prince’s Trust Youth Business Scotland supported businesses are two of the sponsors for Dundee United’s new football kit.


    Gordon Deuchars of G. A Engineering started his business in 1992. Twenty years on and the company has won numerous awards and has established itself as one of the leading subcontract engineering firms in the North of Scotland working with oil and gas sectors. It is also only one of few companies investing in young apprentices. Gordon is long term volunteer and Ambassador for the Trust.

  • Tayside and Fife Elevator Clubs joined together recently to offer members the opportunity to get to know each other, network and of course to inter-trade between the two areas. The event was held at Cluny Clays in Fife region and the central venue attracted young entrpreneurs from both regions.

PSYBT Awards

Shoe designer Emily Lamb has been nominated for a Scottish Variety Award under the ‘Best new Scottish Artist or Designer’ category. Emily was funded by PSYBT in 2010 and her hand made shoes have been very well received by those in the fashion industry. After Graduating from Cordwainers, part of the London College of Fashion which specialises in footwear, she decided to launch her own collection, ensuring every creation was unique with their own original feature and pattern.
