  • Leading Scottish Youth Charities Join Forces

    Two of Scotland’s leading youth charities, the Prince’s Trust and the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), are to join forces to offer even more support to the country’s young people.


    Both organisations have a long and proud history of supporting Scotland’s young people.  The Prince’s Trust Scotland supports disadvantaged young people into education, training and employment, while PSYBT helps young people to start up and continue in business.

  • Walpole is a non-profit-making organisation that furthers the interests of the British luxury industry by harnessing and sharing the collective knowledge, experience and resources of it's members.


    The Brands of Tomorrow competition is designed to mentor businesses within the luxury brands sector, allowing them to fulfil their potential with the help of experienced entrepreneurs. The chosen few will learn from CEOs and founders of businesses including Harrods, Smythson, Thomas Pink, McKinsey & Co and leading advisors and journalists.

  • Michael makes the Olympics!

    Michael Smith always knew he wanted to pursue a sports career. While studying for a BSc Hons in Sports & Exercise Science from Stirling University, Michael worked part-time as a gym instructor, football/athletics coach and lifeguard. When he graduated in 2006, he started working for West Lothian Leisure as a gym instructor while completing an American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM) Health & Fitness Specialist qualification.

  • Alliance Trust Cateran YOMP

    Following the huge success of its debut in 2011, Lorraine Kelly launched a call for team entries and sub-sponsors for the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp in 2012. Lorraine joined 5 soldiers in her home town of Dundee ahead of the 52 mile walk along the Cateran Trail which starts in Blairgowrie.


    Unlike other walking challenges, the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp offers something for everyone, with Bronze (22 miles), Silver (36.5 miles) or Gold (52 miles) routes along the Cateran Trail which starts in Blairgowrie - there’s a challenge for everyone!

  • Fife enjoy Networking Opportunities

    Fife’s only networking club for young people in business is proving popular with young entrepreneurs. The Elevator Club run by PSYBT met at Cluny Clays in November and was attended by 12 enterprising young people who have been supported to start up in business by PSYBT.

  • BT Scotland Young entrepreneurs

    Leonie Woolf launched her business earlier this year after she received funding from PSYBT through the BT Scotland Young entrepreneurs scheme, which was set up to encourage young people to use e-commerce to boost their businesses.


    Leonie had the original idea a while ago, but the business really only started growing this year.  She purchased her first composite boat a year or so ago, and wanted to make it unique.  She spent countless days looking online for a company that could help her design some graphics, even looking into marine yacht companies.

    One of Scotland's most promising new designers, Alan Moore, unveiled his brand new ten30 collection in a stunning show featuring live musical performances from Gillian Frame and Mark Brendan Farmer from The 17th Century last month (October) at the Malmaison Hotel, Glasgow.

PSYBT Awards

Shoe designer Emily Lamb has been nominated for a Scottish Variety Award under the ‘Best new Scottish Artist or Designer’ category. Emily was funded by PSYBT in 2010 and her hand made shoes have been very well received by those in the fashion industry. After Graduating from Cordwainers, part of the London College of Fashion which specialises in footwear, she decided to launch her own collection, ensuring every creation was unique with their own original feature and pattern.
