  • Social Media Week Success

    PSYBT collaborated with Fundación Impulsar, based in Argentina, during Social Media Week  in a live streaming innovation challenge. Local PSYBT supported businesses and volunteers challenged their contemporaries across the pond to think of creative ways of making everyday products, more innovative. The event was a cultural exchange that helped both parties step outside of their comfort zones and it was a lot of fun at the same time!

    Diane Houston, designer and owner of lingerie business Gilda & Pearl has been selected, along with a host of renowned British fashion and design leaders to exclusively dress and accessorise a Princess Catherine Wedding Doll.

  • Skills Development Scotland has launched its new online web service - My World of Work.


    My World of Work aims to help people plan, build and direct their career throughout their lives. Providing information on skills, learning and employment, it supports the Scottish Government’s ambitions for the improved delivery of an all age, universal careers service.

  • Elena Torres of Exec Air

    Scottish golfer and former Open Champion Paul Lawrie has signed an exclusive sponsorship agreement with Exec Air, the global air charter company supported by PSYBT in 2008.

  • John Connor Awards Winners

    An award winning Elvis tribute artist and a professional boxing champion were among six young entrepreneurs from Edinburgh who recently received a John Connor Award for business achievement.

  • Ever wondered how an online company is created and the challenges the people behind these start ups face? How did Zuckerberg fair when faced with challenges in the creation of Facebook? Was there a point when the founders of Google nearly gave up? PSYBT funded business, RecommendedBy.co.uk are aiming to give people a true insight into the trials and tribulations of setting up an online enterprise by Tweeting about their start up journey.

  • Friends and Alumni of the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust are being challenged to kick-start the careers of the next generation of young entrepreneurs - by making a cash donation. Already, numerous entrepreneurs who were helped at the outset of their business life by the PSYBT are choosing to give something back. PSYBT is enormously grateful to the following Alumni supporters:

  • Sue with the team at Truly Scrumptious

    Six cyclists including PSYBT’s Chair of West Lothian, Sue Cook, headed to Meschde on 26th May to complete The West Lothian to Hochsaureland Cycle Ride 2011. This is the first cycle ride from West Lothian to its twinning partner in Germany. The inaugural event was supported by West Lothian Council staff and school pupils who helped to raise funds for four charities including PSYBT.

  • A few years ago PSYBT set an ambitious objective to radically overhaul our IT systems. Our vision was to establish an integrated system that would add value, improve our productivity and efficiency, to the way we communicate with and support our clients, volunteers and partners and enhance our ability to effectively report on the impact of our work to both existing and potential supporters.

PSYBT Awards

Shoe designer Emily Lamb has been nominated for a Scottish Variety Award under the ‘Best new Scottish Artist or Designer’ category. Emily was funded by PSYBT in 2010 and her hand made shoes have been very well received by those in the fashion industry. After Graduating from Cordwainers, part of the London College of Fashion which specialises in footwear, she decided to launch her own collection, ensuring every creation was unique with their own original feature and pattern.
