Princess Catherine Doll

Guilda & Pearl design for Royal Wedding Doll

Diane Houston, designer and owner of lingerie business Gilda & Pearl has been selected, along with a host of renowned British fashion and design leaders to exclusively dress and accessorise a Princess Catherine Wedding Doll.

Diane started her business in 2009 and now trades from her boutique store on High Street, Glasgow. After studying at the London College of Fashion, Diane moved away from the fashion world and settled into a career as a journalist. However, after attending a part time lingerie making course and selling her designs at Portobello market, she decided to fulfil her dream of running her own underwear company and approached PSYBT for funding.

A miniature version of her ‘Something Blue’ knickers were chosen as part of the wedding outfit and they feature her signature ribbons and attention to detail. The doll, which has been made by Arklu™ was inspired by HRH Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and showcases ‘the very best of authentic British style and fashion’.

Every piece Diane makes is handmade in the UK and she uses traditional techniques to fit and construct every design, meaning no two items are exactly the same. She recently returned from a fashion show in New York where she confirmed orders with Urban Outfitters in the USA, as well as other USA boutiques, a testament to her high quality, unique designs.
