West Lothian regional chair Sue Cook cycles 700 km to Germany!

Six cyclists including PSYBT’s Chair of West Lothian, Sue Cook, headed to Meschde on 26th May to complete The West Lothian to Hochsaureland Cycle Ride 2011. This is the first cycle ride from West Lothian to its twinning partner in Germany. The inaugural event was supported by West Lothian Council staff and school pupils who helped to raise funds for four charities including PSYBT.

A West Lothian Council spokesman said: "West Lothian Council staff and school pupils have been fantastic in organising and supporting the fundraising effort for the four charities. We would like to thank the Centre for hosting the stall and all of the companies who have provided fantastic prizes for our raffle."

Sue Cook only took up cycling a few years ago when she completed the Rob Roy Challenge to raise money for PSYBT. The 16 mile run and 40 mile cycle was a tremendous challenge at the time and gave her the impetus to challenge herself further. Never one to resist a challenge, Sue decided in 2010 to cycle from Livingston to Paris, an incredible experience which led to the organisation of this year’s event.

The team arrived in Meschde on 3rd June. Just under 700 km, sunburned, a little tired but delighted. Sue said “Been fabulous, again next year?!!”
