PSYBT’s challenge is to raise almost £1M from donations each year to sustain its package of financial support and free advice to aspiring young entrepreneurs. A regular gift starting from £10 per month really can add up to make a huge difference.
PSYBT’s updated website offers an easy way for its volunteers, entrepreneurs, partners and staff to get more involved. Says Catherine Erskine, chair of PSYBT Fife and an enthusiastic champion of the Trust’s friends and alumni initiative: I think it has huge potential, not only to be a significant fundraiser; but more importantly, perhaps, its potential to spread the word, retain supporters and to create a truly engaged PSYBT family.”
Through her own business at Cambo Estate, by Kingsbarns in Fife, Catherine regularly offers places to PSYBT-backed businesses at Cambo Christmas Fairs and its renowned Snowdrops events. She has also recently developed a partnership with Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, allowing PSYBT-backed young businesses set up stands, for no charge, at private gardens open to the public. And a PSYBT corner in the Cambo gift shop is currently showcasing the work of PSYBT photographer, Stuart Russell http://www.struartrussellartwork.co.uk
