After two successful events in August, the Perth Race Day and the Stagecoach Gala Dinner, The Prince's Charities were presented with a cheque for £236,000 from money raised through the two high profile events.
First Minister, Alex Salmond said "I am very proud to have been involved with this project. We had originally set a target of £200,000, although we kept this private because it seemed like such a huge amount. To get £236,000 is extraordinary and way beyond anybody's expectations."
The Perth Racecourse Charities Race Day on August 20 was attended by thousands of people, including the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay and is thought to have brought in an additional £2 million to the local economy.
