Case Studies

Natasha Marshall Ltd

Natasha was funded by PSYBT in 1997 when she and business partner, Neil Fullerton, struggled to secure financial backing from the banks. Glasgow School of Art Graduate Natasha, is now one of the UK’s foremost fabric and wallpaper designers. Working from a three storey converted glue factory in Glasgow’s West End, her designs can now be bought around the world and grace many an exotic boutique hotel.

Natasha received growth funding in 2008. As the business began to grow, Natasha found herself moving further away from designing and thinking creatively, towards the business side of things. She decided action had to be taken, and now spends 80–90 per cent of her time designing. Business development, including a recent series of collaborations with other fabric and wallpaper houses have now been sub contracted, as are sales and website design, allowing Natasha more time to get creative.

Now as part of the Scottish Enterprise High Growth Programme and with 2 members of staff working to meet demand, Natasha has a little extra time and now gives back to PSYBT by serving on the board of directors and also delivers workshops at many PSYBT events.
