Enjoy-a-Ball keeps on growing in Falkirk

Chris Allen, 24, is at the head of a growing business in Falkirk keeping youngsters in the area happy and healthy.  Chris runs the Falkirk area franchise of Enjoy-a-Ball - a sports coaching programme aimed at boys and girls aged between 3 and 9 years old.

Classes are designed to develop children’s motor skills and personal confidence and include 8 different ball sports in a non-competitive environment.  Small classes ensure children receive individual attention.  Aimed at developing children’s all-round sports, motor and social skills, including co-ordination, concentration and social interaction…  and it’s all done in a fun, friendly and ‘enjoy-a-ball’ way.

Having gained valuable sports coaching experience built up over almost 10 years, Chris took the leap into self-employment in 2007 with support from PSYBT.  From small beginnings Chris now has over 190 children every week enjoying his classes at five different local centres. As well as regular classes Chris takes Enjoy-a-Ball activities to children’s parties at weekends and last year held over 60 parties.  Chris’s enthusiasm and dedication to his business was awarded with a runner-up prize in PSYBT Forth Valley’s Business Awards in 2009.

He comments “As Enjoy-a-Ball keeps growing, this year I’m looking to start new centres in Denny and Grangemouth and am about to hire an employee – a huge step forward in developing my business.  As well as the regular classes this year, I’ll also be running Easter camps and then 3 weeks of summer camps with a wide range of children’s activities including games, sports and arts and crafts”.
