Derek Walker - Fife Regional Ambassador

Derek Walker is an enthusiastic volunteer with The Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust, joining the team in 2009 as the first Ambassador in Fife region. Supported by PSYBT to develop his first business venture with Jamie Russell, they founded and grew a company that helps children and adults to share knowledge and become more enterprising in their education and personal development. The duo sold the company, Tree of Knowledge, and both moved on to develop businesses on their own but have never forgotten the impact of the support from PSYBT.

Derek uses his first class presentation skills and relaxed and friendly manner to facilitate events within Fife Region, Fiona Turnbull, PSYBT Fife Regional Manager says “Derek has hosted the Q & A session at the annual awards ceremony in Fife since 2009. The feedback we receive from guests and finalists on this part of the ceremony is fantastic. Derek has first-hand experience as he was a finalist with his business partner in the 2003 competition so always keeps the session relevant, interesting and above all funny”

Derek is passionate about the development of an enterprise culture in Scotland and in particular in developing confidence in young people. He has recently taken up a new role within The Outward Bound Trust and it seems this position is another good use of his natural talents.

The Outward Bound Trust
