Run by twin brothers Cameron and Struan Smith, Coastal Connection aims to make the islands and lochs of Argyll more accessible than ever before. “We are fortunate to have many beautiful islands and lochs on the west coast” explains Cameron, “and with our high speed boats these are all very accessible within a reasonable time. There are many points of interest en route to the destination, with an abundance of wildlife and fascinating history.” Launched in early spring 2009 with support from PSYBT, the business is based in Oban although pick ups can be arranged from anywhere. Travelling in a safe, dry and comfortable environment in one of their two 11 metre cabined Redbay RIBs, customers can reach the islands in no time at a 30 knot cruising speed. Both brothers are qualified skippers and have been driving this type of boat for several years. Coastal Connection is on standby 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with services ranging from the commercial side to scenic tours of the West Coast and wildlife watching.
Coastal Connection were also the Runners Up at the 2010 Argyll PSYBT Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which recognised their business success to date.
