Brian Connolly is a volunteer with Dunbartonshire region and supports up to ten young people at any time who have been awarded a grant to help them research the market for an idea. It’s a newly created role within the organisation and is proving to be a really useful service to help young people translate their business ideas into a working reality. Brian can signpost to industry information to help with research and encourages each business to conduct thorough analysis of their chosen sector.
In February 2011, Brian was supported by the Wave of Friendship to visit PSYBT Fife region on a supported volunteer exchange and share his knowledge and experience in this new role with volunteers in Fife. Catherine Erskine, PSYBT Fife Chair comments “The market test grant is now a very valuable means of assistance to young people during the early stages of start up, Brian has developed a good model that works and we hope we can replicate this role in our region to support young people in Fife”
