Artemis Imagery – Toni Gallacher

Artemis Imagery is a highly creative photography company specialising in weddings, portraits and commercial work. Artemis is based in Aberdeenshire, however owner, Toni Gallacher, travels across Scotland to capture and cover all types of events and gatherings.

From a young age, Toni realised that she was ‘artistic’ and was set on a path to figure out what this label meant. In school, she was never out to of the art department which naturally lead her to Grays School of Art, for what she thought was going to be a doorway to painting and artistry. However, her tutors soon informed her of her natural flare for sculpture and visual communication. She worked as a photographer’s assistant then proceeded to showcase her portfolio in London and Aberdeen based degree shows. This, along with a little bit of career exploration, led her to where she is today, owner of Atemis Imagery.

Toni was funded by PSYBT and she has found the assistance to be invaluable. She says “PSYBT have greatly expanded and deepened my knowledge of business. I am incredibly grateful to my lovely business adviser and good network based in Aberdeen for all of their assistance in helping me to build a platform from which I can fulfil my dreams and ambition.”

Toni came up with the name for her business because Artemis was the Greek Goddess of Light who cared for small creatures, which Toni feel suites her business. She says “photography is the Latin word for artist of light. Personally I am always struck by the stunning light in Scotland and ways I can manipulate this within my art form to produce work that my customers can truly cherish and appreciate.”
