Aileen Saunders is a music educator who started her business CHIME in 2011 when she was funded by PSYBT. CHIME uses imaginative play, instrumental work, dance, drama and music, giving children the opportunity to enhance their creative talent, knowledge base, appreciation of music, communication, confidence and social skills – all in a structured and supportive environment.
Aileen required a website to help grow her business, she needed one that she could develop as and when her business grew and expanded. Aileen was frustrated that she couldn’t find a web designer who could give her a bespoke website with the ability to upload and change content within a relatively tight budget. It was important that Aileen had a website she felt in control of, where she could make changes without contacting the designer every time content need updated.
Denise O’Connor, a High Growth business adviser from Business Gateway introduced Aileen to a company she was working with as they were looking to develop a starter website that could grow and develop with the company – a website for life that evolves without the company having to go back to the drawing board when needs change and budgets grow.
Freedom Websites met with Aileen and they soon realised they were well matched. The web designers let you update the content of your website as easily as typing a letter. It removes the need for in-depth technical knowledge and provides a set of simple-to-use tools for keeping your site up to date. As a result, Aileen came away with exactly what she needed and Freedom Websites launched their new product.
With the help of PSYBT and Business Gateway these two businesses, at different stages in their entrepreneurial journey were able to support each other. A fine example of how collaborative entrepreneurship is the way forward for so many small businesses.
