Public Sector Supporters
PSYBT plays a significant role in ensuring that resources are always available to help those young people with the imagination, energy and determination to start their own business. One of the unique features of PSYBT is the way in which the organisation brings together a mix of public and private sector supporters alongside individual donors and volunteers.
In Scotland we are fortunate to have a most supportive enterprise network and PSYBT has benefited from significant support from the Scottish Enterprise and from the European Structural Funds programme and the European Investment Fund. PSYBT also received a grant of £1M from the Scottish Executive to assist PSYBT in the top-up of the start-up loan fund and the challenge we face in ensuring that we can continue to back those young people who have been unable to secure support from other sources.
Scottish Enterprise
A major supporter of PSYBT is Scottish Enterprise who contribute invaluable core support to PSYBT and provide a wide range of resources for anyone about to start a business or grow an existing one.
Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Highland Opportunity Ltd and Western Isles Council
We also understand the challenges facing youngentrepreneurs in remoter parts of the country. Our relationship with Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Highland Opportunity Ltd and Western Isles Council is therefore vital in enabling us to provide support across the whole country.
The Scottish Objective 3 Programme
PSYBT also benefits from support from several European Funds. The European Social Fund contributes to the costs of providing a package of assistance to young people in the Scottish Objective 3 area. PSYBT is also a partner in the Equal Enterprise Scotland Development Partnership part-funded by the EQUAL Community Initiative.
The European Investment Fund
The European Investment Fund, under the European Community’s Multinational Programme for Enterprise provides a loan guarantee for some of our start-up and development loans. An ERDF grant also contributes to the development of PSYBT’s Growth Fund, which assists the growth of competitive and Innovative young businesses which have previously been backed by PSYBT.

Equal Enterprise Scotland
Finally, PSYBT is a partner in Equal Enterprise Scotland, a dynamic Partnership made up of nine organisations across Scotland, all working together to ensure that enterprise is open to all - reducing exclusion and promoting inclusiveness. |
