CLOSE XPSYBT Forth Valley is delighted to welcome Caroline Curley as its new Regional Ambassador. Caroline became a volunteer with PSYBT in September 2010 and has been working with young people who have been awarded the Market Test Grant, allowing them to test out their ideas before setting up a full business. Her new role will include supporting the Regional Manager, Alison Gee, in promoting PSYBT at events in Forth Valley involving employers, Forth Valley College and community groups.
Caroline has worked with young people for twenty-five years initially through the Careers Service in Cheshire and then Tayside. She worked in Dundee and Clydebank helping to establish and develop partnerships between employers and education. At the University of Paisley she advised part-time students on programmes of study that could enhance their career prospects as well as arranging for University modules to be taught on employers’ premises. Since having triplets – in itself a full-time job! - she has remained active by helping with various enterprise activities at her children’s primary school.
Caroline remarks “I am very excited about my new role as Regional Ambassador and being able to help in promoting PSYBT. It is such a wonderful charity enabling young people to realise their ambitions of setting up and establishing their own businesses. The support given by funding and personal business advisers offered by PSYBT is totally unique and gives young people a real chance to achieve their ambitions. I have met with some very inspirational entrepreneurs and feel very proud to be associated with an organisation that has helped so many young people in Scotland.”
Alison Gee added “Caroline brings to her role tremendous enthusiasm and a genuine affinity with the aspirations of young people, and we are very fortunate to have her on our volunteer team”.
